Buddhism
If you truly loved yourself,
you could never hurt another.
Those who experiences the unity of life
sees their own Self in all beings,
and all beings in their own Self,
and looks on everything with an impartial eye.
Those who knows life flows,
feels no wear or tear,
needs no mending or repair.
In the end
these things matter most:
How well did you love?
How fully did you live?
How deeply did you let go.
Siddhārtha Gautama Buddha
Christianity
If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails …
Corinthians 13:1–8
new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.

begins perceiving in all living beings
a part of himself.
He becomes a lover of all,
a part and parcel of the Universal Joy.
He flows with the stream of happiness,
and is enriched by each soul.

Judaism
Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame.
Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot sweep it away.
If one were to give all the wealth of one’s house for love, it would be utterly scorned.
Song of Songs 8:6-7
